Berburu Ayam Kampung di Kartasura, Solo

Solo (12/5).

Bersama Ibu Manajer Cabang, My Cousin :-)

Resep rahasia Sang Mbah Mus mampu memanjakan lidah saya.

Slamet Riyadi No. 191 Kartasura, tempat dimana banyak berjejer rumah makan bebek-bebek dan ayam-ayam. Dari Jl. Raya Solo-Jogja, berbelok ke kanan, ke arah Jl. Slamet Riyadi, sebelum pertigaan Semarang-Solo.

Silakan hubungi (0271) 9230215. Dijamin kulino*! (@RirryHapsari)

Chasing the ‘Village’ Chicken in the Town

New Culinary Recommendation in Solo City, Central Java, Indonesia

Fried Crispy 'Village' Chicken of Mbah Mus

Are you looking for new culinary recommendation in Solo? Warung Makan Mbah Mus might become a choice of delicious meals for you and family. Now, you don’t have to go far to the village to taste the delicious fried crispy ‘village’ chicken or organic chicken (ayam kampung). Just chase the chicken in the middle of Solo city. Eits, be careful being crashed by the chilli sambal which is soooooo hot and delicious!

Hunting the 'Village' Chicken in Kartasura, Solo City

Solo (12/5). This late afternoon I had a chance to visit a new restaurant in Kartasura, part of Solo, Central Java, Indonesia. The name is Warung Makan Ayam Kampung Mbah Mus. So happy I could taste the traditional and unique food. Pink Traveller really loves to taste new things, including new food.

With the Branch Manager, My Cousin :-)
I chose this Fried Crispy Village Chicken, just because of simple reason: the Branch Manager is my cousin. Well, I was curious with her story and my aunt about the restaurant that newly opened for one month and managed by my cousin. The owner is a local business man of Solo city, whom coincidentally is our neighbor in our big family’s house in Solo.

In fact, my choise was not wrong. During my way to the Warung, I guessed, how the taste is, what makes it outstanding, and what I could make as headline for the review of restaurant and culinary experiences in my blog this time. As I arrived there, I was served by the nice of the serving. Eits, not because of nepotism or endorsed ya, but well I do love the serving in Java area, because it is still contained with the Javanese culture in excellence of serving people.

Most Delicious Eaten with Hot Chilli Sambal and Warm Rice

I ordered one slice of fried crispy organic chicken breast completed with vegetables (lalapan), two kinds of chilli sambal, chilli sambal with shrimp paste (sambal terasi) and raw chilli sambal (sambal mentah), one portion of rice, and ice orange. When I tasted the flavour of organic chicken, the meat was soft and deliciously oily and salty, combined with the crunchy crispy. The secret recipe of Mbah Mus could please my tongue. Don’t ask the chilli sambal, hot and fresh, most delicious eaten with the gentleness of organic chicken meat and warm rice.

One chicken is sold Rp 70.000, with the price of each slices is around Rp 17.000. This Warung also serves buffet, package around Rp 15.000, and big parties of orders. The place is comfort, with highly interior design and Javanese atmosphere, and with the big aula that can be used for meeting or any gatherings, like recitation (pengajian), social-money gathering (arisan), etc.

The location is also strategic, on the main road Jl. Slamet Riyadi No. 191 Kartasura, in which there are plenty of traditional-ducks-and-chickens-made food. From Jl. Raya Solo-Jogja, turn to the right, to the Jl. Slamet Riyadi, before the T-intersection of Semarang-Solo. Follow the Jl. Slamet Riyadi Kartasura until you find Warung Makan Mbah Mus on your left.

Curious to taste this delicious fried crispy 'village' chicken with hot chilli sambel? Quickly chase to the Warung Makan Mbah Mus Kartasura, Solo. Please call +62271 9230215. Guaranteed kulino*! (@RirryHapsari)

" Oatmeal Beef Soup
with Authentic Indonesian Special Spices "

~ Healthy, Simple and Fast-Cooking ~

Spices:
- Garlic
- White Pepper
- Salt
- Sugar
- Nutmeg (Indonesian spices)
- Cinnamon (Indonesian spices)
- Cloves (Indonesian spices)
- Ginger (Indonesian spices)

Ingredients:
- Beef Meat (substitutional choices: beef ribs)
- Oatmeal (substitution of rice)
- Potato
- Carrot
- Sausages
- Tofu
- Tomato
- Onion Leafs
- Water

Cooking Steps:

- Cook the beef meat until half-cooked.

Cook the beef meat with cold water until boiled. Change the water and cook again. Add more water if it's drained, until the meat is half-cooked. If using the pressure pan, it only takes +/- 30 min. If using slow cooker, it takes +/- 1 hour. If using ordinary pan / rice cooker, it takes +/- 2 hours.

- Soften the spices: garlic and nutmeg. Hit the spices: the cinnamon, cloves, and ginger until they are flat.

- The second water can be used for cooking.

- If the beef is half-cooked, put the potato first. Then put the soft spices and flat spices.

- If the beef is third-quarter-cooked, put the carrot, sausages, and tofu. Add salt, white pepper, and sugar as you wish. Usually my comparison is 1 : 1 : 1. For this soup, we can use 2 spoons of salt, white pepper, and sugar.

- Wait until it's boiled and all the spices are absorbed. Then, add tomato and onion leafs. Taste the flavour until it matches with your taste.

- Mixed the quick-cooked oatmeal with the water, make it a little bit solid. Use it as your substitution of rice.

- Serve with the cooked-sambal (traditional chilli sauce of Indonesian) or anything you like with. Enjoy while it's hot.
