from Muslim for Paris"

Written by : Hapsari Sulistyaningrum

Mes plus sincères condoleances aux victimes de l'attaque sanglante a Paris.

My deepest condolences to the victimes of the bloody attack in Paris.

The terror attack under the name of Islam killed 12 victims on Wednesday, 7 of January 2015, in Paris, France. Some victims were work for Charlie Hebdo, a French satirical newspaper, and some were policemen.

This is might be the worst terror attack in France in recent memory (time.com).

As France has Europe's biggest Muslim population (reuters.com).

Yes, I know how it feels...

I know how it feels to be a Muslim among Parisians...

During a month traveling there, I DO know how it feels.

It felt so safe and sound, don't you believe that?

Maybe it's the western safest and most tolerated place having our religion respected by other religions.

I saw many Muslims have their rights to do their religion rules there...

For instances, many of Muslim women may use hijab or burqa, and freely walk on the down streets without any fears.

The Muslim men may freely show their identity as Muslim by the beards (janggut), the 7/8 pants (celana cingkrang), rimless cap (kopiah), etc.

I know how the Islam religion is fine there...

Many Parisians have big hearts and toleration towards Muslim community. For instances, you may freely do sholat (praying), shaum (fasting), and go to the Masjid (mosque), etc.

I know how it feels to be a Muslim among Parisians in Paris....

They DO respect us as Muslim. They DO respect that we have Halal and Haraam ways. They DO know that we have to do our Prays 5 times a day, they DO know our Prohet Muhammad saw, they DO know our Holy Quran, and they DO know our God is Allah subhana wata'ala.

Moreover, many of French people are more aware to study about Islam, as the fact that Islam is a fine religion. It's also because the Muslim population in France is reflected to be increased in the next decades, said one of my Parisians friends.

When at first I heard this news, saw the pictures and videos, my memory flew back to the time and place in Paris, like I was there on last summer, July 2014.

My emphaty grows bigger as I can easily imagine how the situation was.

The roads, the buildings, the people...

If I were there, perhaps I could be also both in fear and danger, even I'm Muslim.

So, I really know how the terror makes Muslim people and Non-Muslim people there are in the deepest condolences, insecure, yet in fear.

Some Parisians had reported they expressed fears about the effect of the attack on community relations in France.

"This is bad for everyone - particularly for Muslims despite the fact that Islam is a fine religion. It risks making a bad situation worse," as cited from a Parisian from reuters.com.

But, why should killing others?

It's never been mentioned in Holy Quran.

Never.

Instead, we are created to be different in order to getting know each other in this world.

This is mentioned in the Al-Qur'an Letter 49 (Al Hujurat) Paragraph 13 in which Allah created differentiation among human, including religion, in order to know each other.

"Hi human, real We created you of a man and a woman and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may know each others. Those of the most noble among the side of God is the most pious among you. Allah Knowing again the Supreme Know."( Letter 49 Paragraph 13, Al-Qur'an)

It's not even the answers to kill others who hate or lampoon our religion.

Big no.

Instead, we as Muslims are taught to love each other.

Islam is peaceful religion.

Through this letter, I would like to show my deepest condolences for all people in France.

As a Muslim, I do disagree for people who do misleading behavior under the name of Islam.

I do disagree for the wrong ways people take to fight other people's religions or other people's opinion about Islam, with reason to defend Muslim's pride.

Do God command us to kill human? I believe in every religions, we are not taught to do that.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have lost their loved ones.

Thank God you send encouragement for Parisians and others who live in Paris after this incident.
They are good, brave, and nice people.
May You send peace, safe, and sound for people in Paris, France.

Aamiin yaa Rabbal'alaamiin.
